BETWEEN MODERN AND TRADITIONAL

The shapes of the brooches are inspired by the traditional ceramic pattern that represents to the ancient female generals in Taiwanese temple arts. Throughout history, women in the East and West have always been bound by traditional etiquette and teachings. Until now, some women still struggling with social stigma and unable to stay true to themselves. I aspire to not be fettered by social stigma and live brave and true like a general for your own dream. The two brooches have represented a marriage between traditional arts and modern material; the juxtaposition of the new and old.
