COTTON BUD INSPIRATION "BREAK THE CIRCLE"

“Break the circle” brooch series are inspired by the lifestyle changed and the culture shocks that I've been through recently. Since I moved to the UK for my master degree, I kept facing culture differences and language barriers which way too much than I can imagine. Through the times went by, I am getting used to my new life and become more confident.

The brooches started from the circle shape that represents my life before I study abroad. Staying in my comfort zone and afraid of failures, changes and the unknown challenges. Therefore, I kept struggling in the circle of my routine life. The second one that started to break the circle which symbolises that I'm trying to step outside my comfort zone and break the chains of fear. Adding bright colours and larger acrylic shape in the third one means that I learned to enjoy the process of taking risks and growing in the process. The last brooch, circle shapes at the beginning turned out to the irregular shape, now I enjoy the life, the challenge, the risk and have much more confidence and courage to face it.
