Inspired by the “daily haptics” collection by Marie Rouillon, I started to collect the objects and materials around me and tried to figure out how to give it a new tactility and make it attractive to encourage viewers to touch. Puff binder was one of the materials I found accidentally in the textile studio, then I tried to mix and match with the everyday objects around us, it was a long period of considering how did the shape and the colour works in the pieces. Based on the analysation of mine top 10 materials and creatures which encourage me to touch, there are lots of in common, such as the vivid colours, irregular organic shapes, repeated elements and covered by tons of gibbous spike or dots. The tactility of the materials changed when it largely repeated, and it quite the success in evoking the viewers’ curiosity of the haptic exploration.
